    Phormictopus sp south hispaniola

I picked up 3 Phormics from FNT a few weeks ago, billed as green femur, but really they have green setae all over legs and abd when you look at the right angles so might be emerald sp. or who knows they are all 1" or less so we'll see. shouldn't be long to wait, they eat very well and will grow...

Considering Buying a Matured Female T. Albo

I'd say 2" per year accelerated would be the most top growth ever for a F albo. I've had abt 15 of them and 1.25"/yr well-fed was fastest I've raised an F, so about 4 years to max size, but they are breedable just after 4" 3yr 4 mos. 2 years, no. likely it is about 5 yrs + old that size. my...

looking for cheap adult terrestrial enclosure ideas on The Container Store. Suggestions?

well local fish stores might be closed now, but a simple 10 gal tank is like $12-15, 5 gal are more expensive really, but glass really lets you enjoy setting up nice habitat to show off your T. I always thought totes were for those snake guys with 150 reptiles and no space,, T's are a wonderful...

    Has anyone used these?

Sterilite makes a tote with a gasket lip and lock handles that seem pretty good for a spider or even my escape artist P. nivea roaches and at Wally they are < $10

looking for cheap adult terrestrial enclosure ideas on The Container Store. Suggestions?

on the cheap you can do the shoe box tote or Sterilite tubs, but wouldn't you want great visibility for your adult T's? they are worth a $15-25 tank or other enclosure. Acrylic is expensive tho, so I always had 5 and 10 gal glass tanks, but now I am going with glass Exo Terra's when they hit 4" +.

cute little orb weaver spiderlings of some type. you can heat up a pin or sewing needle and poke holes, you'll have to set them up with a branch so they can make vertical webs. they'll eat fruit flies, little mealworms, baby crix (pinheads). species unknown at that size, but if you search for...

    Can she be fine?

T's usually feel stressed when rehoused and might stay in one spot esp. if they are premolt. too late now but should've been left to molt in familiar surroundings. the T will be ok but is not as mobile because they need to build up fluid pressure to split the old exoskeleton. a very stressful...

I'm completely new to owning a tarantula and am wondering about feeding.

Welcome and hope you'll enjoy keeping a hamorii,, for one spider, you dont need a colony of lateralis or dubia. they live 6-8 months and lateralis breed like crazy if kept warm and fed in a tub. smallest amount I saw was like 25 or 50 and even that is too much for 1 T. esp. if you feed a small...

How much activity is normal for t. albopilosum?

    T. albo's are active and always fun because they do so much. my girl is 4" and does rest sometimes but uses all of her enclosure regularly. they prowl presumably looking for another meal even they don't actually need to eat so often. my fuzzball would eat every day if I fed her

    Correct ID

Dolemedes do have some locality differences, and it's confusing that tenebrosus are very camoflaged to their region. the small sp. are easier because of the lateral line coloration. I do think what might all be labeled as tenebrosus is in fact 3 sub sp. but as far as official taxon goes they...
