I just noticed tonight when checking on my Ts that my (suspected) female A. Avic has a rather large abdomen. She gets fed one large roach once a week. I am thinking about giving her a week off from feeding. She has never been with a male so there is no way she could have eggs or will she lay a...
Thanks viper. I like your set up. Mine has more wood pieces which make it easier for the roaches to hide. I usually take the bowl out once she has eaten and moved out of it so it's not in their all the time.
Both of mine have surprisingly taken to roaches very well and gobble them right up.
So I have noticed that my A. avic has been having trouble finding the roaches I toss into her enclosure. The roaches make it to the bottom and hide and she never finds them because she is never at the bottom of her enclosure. So last week and this week I used a plastic round ziploc container and...
Surprisingly the petco by me hasn't had T's in about 2 months. Actually they didn't have a lot of reptiles when I was there today getting a couple of things for my fish.
My girl currently at the top of her enclosure. I have also seen her completely on the side. I think she is taking lessons from my Avic who is right next to her.
My own b smithi has been doing this for a couple of weeks now. She still eats fine and in fact is chowing down on a roach as we speak. I believe my girl does it because she is trying to get away from the Loud vibrations of my neighbors slamming their doors. I have found that putting a sheet over...
Good video. Was actually hoping you would do one on feeders. @EulersK I know you have done two on the basic types of enclosures and doing your own enclosure but I would love to see one on actual setup. That way beginners can see what an arboreal enclosure should look like and what a terrestrial...
My cat Saffire ignores the T's. I guess they don't move enough for her, but bring out the roaches and she is right there to try and catch them through the tub.
I would like to know if smoke from nearby fires will harm my tarantulas. There are two fires burning near me and I like to keep my windows open as much as possible and a window fan on. Yesterday with how high the Temps were I actually had my AC on and the apartment closed up but normally the...
nice looking T. I like how you put bark up as a barrier for the substrate. Do the lids have slots in them and had you ever had an issue with T's getting into the slots.
In my living room as that is really the only place to keep them. I live in a studio apartment. Unfortunately with living in an apartment there is always noise. The noisy kids below me to my neighbor next door who is always slamming the door.
When I was a kid I absolutely hated all spiders. Of course when you live in a really old house that had multiple mouse holes that let all the creepy crawlies in, they were everywhere. Growing up and in high school I learned just how benificial spiders were to the environment. I still don't like...
I've had snakes get out of drawers like that and that's when I realized sterlite containers with locking lids were better.
Glad you have them in containers with locking lids. Hope you find the missing one.
