Hello all, this is my second skeleton leg.. first one went into it's burrow within a week.. usually I wouldn't worry but it's been about 2 and a half months and he still refuses to go into his burrow, just chills out on top. He eats fine and is healthy i was just wondering why he refuses to...

how to check for Egssack?? wothout distrurbing the T too much

I would be careful when trying to remove the eggsac... under any circumstances. Sometimes stressed out T's will eat their own egg sacs.

    The study of Tarantulas?

Ok thanks. The reason I had my doubts was when I went onto the official American Arachnological Society's homepage I didn't see anything about tarantulas. Only true spiders and other Arachnids.

    The study of Tarantulas?

I was just wondering what someone who study's tarantulas would be called? I did a quick internet search and did find much. For some reason it seems like the study of T's does not fall under Arachnology. Could it possibly be Entomology?

There is section on this forum specifically for sexing, and the people who post there are pretty accurate. You will probably have better luck posting there.

    Ft. Lauderdale Expo

Anyone going to the Ft. Lauderdale reptile show Feb. 4 and 5? Just curious how many people into T's are going, seeing as those expos are usually dominated by reptile lovers.

    New here, interested in tarantulas.

I would go with the Green Bottle blue. It looks amazing and isn't a pet rock like the G. rosea.

    T Newb

    B. smithis are great but they take a LONG time to grow. If you want a fully grown female its gonna cost you a good amount. If you want a big T i'd look at the L. parahybana, it gets huge (but not so colorful). All those other ones you listed seem good, the pulchripes shouldn't cost too much but...

    E. murinus issue.

Just an update: The E. murinus finally went into the hide last night. I think the coldfront that came through had something to do with it.

    G Rosea hates new substrate

If the substrate isnt dry he will try to cling onto the walls and not touch the substrate. This may be the reason.

    E. murinus issue.

My E. murinus will not go into its hide, its just been sitting out in the open which I know is very stressful for the T. I made a small cave in its encloure with room to burrow but its been a week and it hasnt gone in. Every other time ive changed his substrate and put him back in hes gone right...
