@lalberts9310 my first thought on the coloration issues was that they were over dew for a molt. i have watched them for 3 molts now and only seen slight changes. i will continue to watch and compare to my others
@advan thank you. i plan on breeding both P. cambridgei and P. irminia in the...
sorry got really busy today or i would have posted sooner
a lil background, i have just over 20 of them from 3 diff dealers. they range in size from 1/2 to about 2.5. the first two sets of 5 that i got are what i am comparing them to.
the last batch i got had exactly what i expected to see...
i agree thats why i tend to go with less ventilation then i should, it helps keep the moisture up aiding in molts . but at the same time makes for a more stagnant environment which can be bad for some especially avics. my recent losses has me wondering if i need to add them to the growing list...
i love post like this it shows just how ill-informed the public is. it reminds us of things we take for granted .
i can remember a time when i was excited ,worried and always watching for molts. its refreshing to see
best advice i can give is know you tarantula in almost all you will notice...
threat postures from fresh out of the sack slings. and adults using crickets as punching bags, i had a obt that would always play with her food befor eating she always spent a good amount of time stomping befor she would eat anything i always enjoyed watching her eat. why use your fangs when you...

most of my lil bulldozers i give a 16oz deli at about 1 inch with 1.5 to 2 inches of sub with some sphagnum moss its usually more then enough to keep them happy, most stop the 24/7 building and make a more perm home.
what are the dimensions of its enclosure? for the size that is plenty of sub...
Lividum would be a good one to compare . I have never had and adult Minx but I have had many lividums and produced a few sacs and raised many to adult. while some of my slings and juvs would get creative or just lazy with their homes none ever made anything like my minax. my adults always dug...
you described my minax to a t. i have a few atm and have not seen even a single toe since i got them, still one of my faves for the same reasons your posting, lots to learn about them. i have 7 of them but they all do the same thing if you were wondering about constancy in building/digging...

i am not saying experience doesnt better a person but to think your experiences with other tarantulas be it one year or 20 does not make you any more qualified then anyone else trying to control any tarantula that is faster meaner then you
you cant compare a dr to owning a obt totaly...
