    Exhibit at Royal Ontario Museum

To anyone who lives close to Toronto or will be visiting before January, there's an exhibit at the ROM called "Spiders: Fear and Fascination" that is worth checking out. A little misleading, as the exhibit also features lots of tarantulas as well as scorpions and centipedes. A lot of the newer...

@Amsferguson it is indeed glued to the top. Seems to have acclimated in its home and webbed up a few parts.

    Acanthoscurria geniculata

Kritter Keepers are much lighter than glass enclosures as well. Weight is a factor for me because I like to move my enclosures around, so consider that if you're like minded. Here's how I housed mine (made from a shoe box):

Some question about my T sling need some answers pls.

The first feeding is great isn't it? The first molt is going to be a fun one :) If feeding is your thing then the L. parahybana is a wise choice. That and my A. geniculata are my go-to's for showing feedings to my friends.

About to jump in head first

Tarantula Canada is good, bought quite a few Ts from them, including a C. versicolor sling at the ReptileExpo last weekend. I commend you for practicing on wolf spiders, those things can move! I'd swear some of the ones I see at the cottage dwarf a few of my juvenile tarantulas lol

@Liquifin Really? My avic did the opposite, which is why I'm trying the inverted design. I will prep another one just in case and watch what happens. Thanks for the warning.

    enclosure for C. versicolor sling

I wanted something a bit more visible than a simple pill jar, so I fashioned this from a tooth pick package. Same height as the pill jar, but slightly wider. What do you guys think?

    Name for my B. albo?

"Isn't it obvious? It's because she dodges bullets" :D @OP I went with a naming theme for my collection, based on South Park characters. It was either that, Seinfeld, or Star Trek: TNG. In the case of my B. albo, her name is Annie :)

    Well that was stupid.....

@Nerdsalad Thanks for taking the time to explain chemical and radiation poisoning and nerding it :) My mom and sister grow tonnes of lavender in their garden and where I live is ravaged by mosquitos in the summer months. I'm definitely going to give your concoction a try *scratches*

    Well that was stupid.....

That is fascinating, can't cockroaches withstand lethal levels of radiation too? Whew, no scented toilet paper around here. Can't help but worry about things like scented diapers though...

@Zepmaster @Paul1126 is correct in my experience. A. genics are quite plentiful, and I fully expect to see at least slings at the next expo.

The molt occurred the day after taking that picture. I love getting shots of my Ts nearing their molt, and this is the closest I've come so far :)
