    It hasn't been canceled!

Those 3 or 4 booths are like a dream come true though

    It hasn't been canceled!

I'm guessing a ban on venomous animals? I know some states have that law. Here in CO we have the Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo, great deals and awesome people. Last time I got a 1-1/2" LP which was sexed as a female because the breeder was an entomologist and used a microscope to sex every T she...

New spiders arriving tomorrow! And question

Make sure to have enough substrate in the KK to prevent a significant fall. The standard is to have the distance from the ceiling of the enclosure to the top of substrate be no more than 1.5x the diagonal leg span of the Tarantula.

Buying new Ts and can't choose, suggestions?

Depends on whether you want the maximum number of Ts Haha. I'd definitely get an E. Sp Red or two, and I'd rather have the two Brachys than the G. Pulchra or Pulchripes, for their colors.

genus Grammostola... why dont we see other species very often?

Another one I didn't even know existed was G. Maule. They look like they have white legwarmers, very cool. Not that rare I don't think, KTBG has slings I believe.

    Got an A. versicolor sling

So I accidentally posted this question incorrectly in the questions and discussions forum last night and the people who responded there also suggested I add fake plants, which was always my intention but I only had individual leaves available. Where do you all get your plastic or silk plants...

    Got an A. versicolor sling

So my local Scales N' Tails had A. versicolorslings for sale today, I had to get one. It's ~1/2". I know Avic slings can be delicate so I'm posting a picture of its new enclosure and asking for any advice or corrections. I'm from Colorado so the ambient humidity is about 30% on a humid day. I...

    OW Maintenance

So when it comes to cleaning out food boluses, cleaning out water dishes and wiping off white poo stains, I use tongs, tongs and wet paper towels respectively for my Avic Avic. I try to disturb her as little as possible, but she always curls up into the "I'm a hiding T" position while I'm doing...

    G. Pulchripes sling buried itself

My B. Albo sling sealed off its burrow and didn't come out for over three weeks recently. I figured it was premolt. I just made sure to moisten the substrate every 3 or 4 days with a dropper. It molted and a couple days later it ate too. You probably have nothing to worry about.

    What do you name them?

A school is just as pointless without any students. You need teachers willing to teach and students willing to learn. I'll admit that some of the people on these forums are not willing to learn and indeed have a minimal interest in the hobby. There are also people like me who are eager to learn...

    What do you name them?

The insinuation was that by thinking of clever names for Ts, people are somehow mistreating them or neglecting them. That's just silly. That's all I was saying. Poec54 is a wonderful asset to this community, and more often than not reprimands with more than enough reason, (like getting bit...

Also the "periodically purged" part makes it impossible for any thread to "tie up" the forums

    What do you name them?

I agree. I think that as important to the longevity of the hobby, however, as the veterans are the noobies such as myself. With no one to learn from the more experienced, that knowledge is wasted. I've found that a lot of the arachnokings and arachnoemperors are less welcoming than they could...

    What do you name them?

Also, if you're so concerned about your time, maybe you shouldn't be in the "Tarantula Chat" forum telling other people that their forum is a waste of time.
