    Cricket question

Hello all! I have a question about buying some feeder crickets. Most sites I've seen sell crickets in bulk, usually 100 minimum. I was wondering if anyone knows of a site that sells small quantities (10-25) of adult crickets. My LP has outgrown petco's biggest crickets they sell. Thanks all

    Favorite tarantula moments

I remember a couple months ago I came home from work and saw my LP half way up the side of his enclosure!!! I didn't think they climbed much being a mainly ground based spider. I was afraid he was gonna fall! Thankfully he decided to stop being a daredevil and climb back down!:D

    flashlight?

I usually just use the light on my phone if the room light doesn't light up where the spider is (i.e his hide).

    Juvie LP in premoult?

My LP just molted avout two days ago. And didn't show any spots on his back that I could see. And his abdomen was huge. One day he refused food. And 3 days later molted.

why did you choose a tarantula?

I never even thought about owning a spider or even considered getting one, but after seeing one in a pet store while browsing for dog food, I just sat there and watched it for about 15 minutes. Once I went home I just could not stop looking at pictures of all the different spiders out there! So...

    Post-molt question

Thanks all for the answers! Much approcated. Basically from what I hear it can be a week or two, or whenever the fangs darken. I checked on him this morning to make sure he was ok, and he was laying down inside his hide just chilling. And I just now saw him right near the water bowl with one leg...

Right in thanks. My concern was him starving. His abdomen was so big before he molted and now it's so empty! Crazy

    Post-molt question

Hello all! So last night my LP finally molted for the first time since i got him. And i was able to watch it happen. It was AWESOME to see. Anyways, my question is how long until I feed him some crickets? His fangs are still red. But his abdomen is almost like a deflated ballon. So I'm sure he...

    First time handling

Hello all, Today I'm going to see if I can get my male LP (about 2 5") to allow me to handle him for the first time and am seeking any advice as how to get him safely out if his cage. I've read all the ways on this forum. And the method I feel most comfortable with is when you have them walk on...

Best Flashlight Color for Tarantula Viewing

I had a question reguarding this post. It may seem kinda of beginner knowledge, but I am a beginner and would like to educate myself. When you mention light sensitivity. What exactly does that mean, as far as if you used a white led light vs a dim redled one like suggested.

    Remove hide? Or don't worry

Right on. Thanks! I read a while ago to make sure they eat it all. But I've looked and can't see anything. And that's what I keep hearing that they are pretty resilient and hardy. Which is good cause it's my first one. :)

    Remove hide? Or don't worry

Hello all, my T spends most of its time during the day (and night) in his hide, whenever I feed him he usually waits till its near and pulls it in and eats there. Should I take his hide off and check under it to make sure there isn't any cricket remains or anything else? Or just leave it be?
