Wanted to thank you again MTA for this thread. I was able to get some h manillensis from Friedrich very exciting. Hopefully we can get whitmania in the states one day
I have heard the yellow spot are a variation of mombo or that some captive mombo are hybrid stock. In the mombo I used to have I had 2 yellow spot that grew up from orange spot parents. So it could be either.
Wow this is a great thread I wish I could offer insight into the beetles. I will however keep watching this thread and look forward to reading more of your posts thank you :)
Do Erpobdella hunt living inverts or do you give them fresh killed insects? Where did you get the orobdella? Those only eat earthworms right and get fairly large they wouldn't bite a person would they?...Would they bite out of defensiveness even if they don't drink blood? If there isn't someone...
Ok way cool so do the leeches breed for you in captivity? Are they communal? Is there one that reproduces faster then the others? Which would be the best for handling? I might have leeches in my collection soon....
Beetles are pretty solitary but dermestids can be raised in groups require no licences and swarm dead things. I used to keep them awhile back but cleaning the enclosure was a pain and dead things get smelly. I collect warrior beetles locally and in the fall to early spring find them under rocks...
They do like to lay in substrate sometimes other beetles will eat those eggs though. I took a pieces of wood and drilled lots of little holes about 1/8" wide in it and they lay their eggs in the holes of the wood which is more like what they do in nature and the other beetles cant get to the...

I think if there was easier to find reliable info out there people would breed more. Maybe not at tarantula breeding levels but at least at scorpion levels it would be nice to have 20-30 people breeding centipedes in the states. I see at least 3 posts a year about people wanting to breed...
@Haksilence Thanks for your reply luckily I live in Austin and Dave at zookeeper will be able to give me a full id once it's larger. I was just trying on here first to give me a starting point.

@AmberDawnDays I got it from a guy locally who got it from someone else who got it from a popular dealer but can't confirm that. It just molted to these colors yesterday.
