This happened the other week: I always think it’s cute when I get to see them take a drink. Incredibly rare to catch my porteri at the watering hole so it made me happy.

Almost like it raided its dads closet and then decided to fly around in 70s garb. Terrible.

Never skimp on substrate. Enough to dig, enough to climb and not get hurt in a fall (for terrestrial T’s). Pick a species you like or are drawn to and find out all you can. Avoid old world species for now. Know where you can source appropriate food. And above all, be patient.

I bought my porteri and avic from a pet shop. I thought at the time “not changing the world, just changing the world for THAT spider”. Now I have a different mindset. I don’t contribute to poor petshop spiders being re-ordered. I hate it but it is what it is. I can’t save them all.

Especially for the price. I could make a whole list 😂 But one wants what one wants.

Importation is indeed a no go. Micro Wilderness has some pulchra slings.
