Here's what I see as I read this.
"Person X condemns hybridization of tarantulas as it could possibly lead to the irrelevancy or extinction of the "pure" tarantulas."
"Person Y sees risks, but sees it as new territory."
"Person Z wants everyone to shut up."
I'm sorry, but when I see these...
In reference to tarantulas? Correct. I asked a question as I was curious. I'm quite startled at the backlash. It would seem tarantula pedigree is held in higher esteem than most other animals, and this was previously unknown to me.

You're saying if you managed to create a tarantula, through hybridization, that was strikingly colored, didn't kick urticating hairs, and was rather tame, no one would want it?
Any reason why? Well, other than the fact it would be a feat to prevent the female from killing the male, which is hard under even normal circumstances from what I understand.
Seems like it's not out of the realm of possibility. Nearly every animal of a similar species is capable of this. And I'd love to see designer T's, sort of like the Ball Python trade has (but with snakes).
My Ball Python, Cleo... she uh... escaped. I don't know how. But she's been missing for days now... that's why I haven't been on. I've been looking for her.. can't find her anywhere...
She was already sick, too. I think she had an RTI (Respiratory Tract Infection), she was coughing up mucus...
I never use frozen, so I wouldn't know. My ball python starved for 3 months because the store I got her from lied about what she really was eating. She only ate live. So I only feed live.
I wouldn't say they're dangerous. You can try dipping them in warm chicken broth to make them more appealing.
I got my first tarantula a few months ago, I'm new to the hobby. It was a Brachypelma Sabulosum. I now have a Lasiodora Parahybana and a Brachypelma Smithi as well.
*Rubs my eyes* Was that TRULY necessary? It's 2015 now. It's better to have a low-intelligence president than a smart despot. This is a thread about snakes. I happen to have a snake, a Ball Python, and yes, she is extremely intelligent, dog-like. Recognizes faces, very stubborn and...
They took it down to the lake. My house and neighborhood has tons of little kids that go up and down those steps, so it wasn't safe. They can take fingers off.
I know exactly how to pick them up, one hand under the shell behind the neck, and one hand under the shell behind the tail.
I'll add a picture tomorrow, it's late today, but this thing was 3 feet long or more. Had animal control come and take it. What's weird is it climbed up five steps to get where it was in the shade. And the lake is a LONG way away for it to crawl to my house. It was just sitting under a chair...
This is a shot in the dark.... but why not call a plumber? They might have better ideas, hell, they might even be able to reverse the water flow and jet the spider out.
Problem is the local lake is swamped with weed shoots and broken logs. You hook a lot weirder things than the fish when you're trying to catch something, lol. Too bad this wasn't an OBT. He'd have no problem getting it out, those things love biting. I don't doubt it'd have its fangs stuck.
But...
