I think everyone's right in the sense that Rosehairs tend to not eat for a very long time but when it does become time I don't think money should be a problem. crickets are extremely cheap. I buy 5 pinheads for 90 cents here. I'm not sure where you live and I usually wouldn't suggest it but I'd...
Okay thanks a lot everyone, I appreciate it, I'll give her a little water bowl in a day or so. I just changed over her enclosure yesterday so I want to give her a little bit to adjust to it.
Microwaving is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that before. I have a pretty big block left of coco fiber so I've broken up all the larger pieces. I rotate spraying each wall once a week, I've also punctured a few more holes just for extra ventilation. My little one is only 3/4 inch at the...
Please don't think that I am a terrible owner, I have been talking to the seller sending frequent messages and pictures an am only following someone else's advice. The lid is where all the ventilation holes are. I have at least 30 and use a little spray bottle to spray the walls once a week...
So I've been following a few instructions from my tarantula seller whose told me that these picture's aren't really a big deal. My gut feeling is kinda telling me otherwise and would really like a few opinions on what I should do.
So Firstly I have been monitoring the mold in my little T's...
That's actually pretty cool :) If I lived in a warmer climate I'd love to try that out. I guess I could always get one of my littler smaller friends to do it for me :)
Thanks a lot guys, another issue too is there's just a little bit of mold starting to grow under the burrower, nothing major just a few patches of white spots. I've read a lot about mold not really being that bit of a deal, so is that still okay?
So I should just leave the molt underground? :P After they molted they're hanging around the top now, doesn't really seem to want to be under there anymore lol
So just a quick question. My A. Calchodes molted a few days ago underground in her burrower, should I remove her and take it out this week? She's still quite small but I'd like to introduce a little hide so hopefully she'll use that instead of burrowing. What do you guys think?
So far I have three little tarantulas, I won't start planting until they get a little larger, I'd just like to start researching so I know what I'm doing, I have an A. Calchodes, a GBB and an A. Geniculata
I found this kinda interesting. I live in Canada so unfortunately my winter prevents tarantula lives. BUT! If I was in the Us and saw a few I would try to, even if they bit me. If there was a tornado near my home though I would bring my little guys down to the basement with me though <3 pet's...
Wow thanks for all the feedback guys, I have a little squirrel skull that I'd like to eventually put into my tarantulas enclosures. Also a few vertebrae and a few femurs, not sure what they belong to though. I didn't really read much on plant life though, anyone have any suggestions on what type...
I've been collecting bones for years now. I bleach them when I originally find them to clean off all of the decay. Last time was about 2 years ago, would it be safe to put those in the enclosure?
Also what kinds of plants are you using for your enclosure? What is your substrate made of? Do...
