Funny that pulchra has 100% of the vote right now. My smithi's have always eaten pretty well. I did vote for pulchra as well, as in my experience they typically eat better. It's the B. boehmei's I have a problem with, I hate them because they are so beautiful but never like eating that much.
Haha! :P This is the only one I've seen of its kind and I haven't found anymore anywhere, couldn't find a brand on it either. It's too bad cause it looks super cool!
Love ball pythons. I don't have any anymore after I sold them from the move, but I'm heading to the daytona show on the 20th, may come back with one :P
Wow that's definitely a first, never seen that before. He definitely climbed in there on his own accord AND went back out the same way. Freakin awesome
Are you the one who bought a B. albopilosum for your therapy office? Are these your new "pet" tarantulas, just for you? :P I think the enclosure could do with a bit more substrate but besides that it looks pretty good to me. Good choice on the species, too. I've got a few slings and they are...
Some people squish the heads so the worms don't move as much, and I have had T's refuse a superworm if it doesn't move enough. Some people don't squish the head at all and it moves to fast and scares the more skittish tarantulas. It's about knowing your individual specimen's preference which...
I've only kept two arboreals (One is sometimes considered semi-arboreal) but I've kept two Green trees (Yapen and Manokwari locale) and a carpet python. (Caramel jaguar, not that it matters) The carpet was definitely easier as far as care, but I honestly don't find green trees that difficult...
Aww, beautiful. Are they rhode island reds? I used to have 12 lovely chickens and 1 royal palm turkey that I raised inside for weeks, only for them to be killed by foxes a few days after they went outside :( Found out some lady that lives behind me feeds the foxes to keep them around so nobody...
Same thing is happening to me. I recently got a space heater for the first time ever keeping T's, and I keep that room 80 degrees now, and they are molting like crazy and being very active. Shoulda got one a long time ago D:
I have 2.5 acres and don't treat the yard with any pesticides, but even then I still wouldn't use wild caught feeders because of parasites. Thank you for asking on the forum before just feeding them to your scorps, that was very smart of you!
Personally though I do quite love my OBT's. I have four, bought for $5 each, they grow quickly, are great eaters, striking orange color as adults. But I love marshalli's too. The marshalli's, in my experience, are less over the top than the murinus. My favorite African baboons, though, are the...
C. marshalli is a great choice, I thoroughly enjoyed mine when I had one. Having T's is already interesting in and of itself, but one with a HORN? A UNICORN TARANTULA? That's pretty special lol
