    my centipede sick

This kind of loss of pigmentation shouldn't be a problem — it happens quite a bit in asian pedes and there's nothing you can do about it :)

    Help Indentify

Yeah, used to be called a "harvest moon" phase. It's basically a generally local (here, general) loss of pigmentation. This might very well be a Vietnamese specimen. Nice dehaani, congrats.

    Ethmostigmus trigonopodus spec. blue

Yeah this looks like it came out of Mozambique or South Africa. Not Tanzanian for sure, and the Kenyans are basically absent from the hobby these days ! That's a nice pede that you got there, take good care of it !

[CALLING ALTERNANS ENTHUSIASTS] need help distinguishing a “giant”

Hi — All 3 types are different, and really distinct. Red giants will get bigger than Haitians and Haitians should get slightly larger than "longipes". The genetics behind that must be fascinating.

    Alipes Identification needed

There are multiple species of Alipes that are superficially similar to grandidieri. It is not possible to ID this pede without some very detailed pics.

    Need help with ID please

Let me clear a few things up to avoid any confusion : -this is indeed S. dehaani and not S. subspinipes dehaani. These animals have been elevated to species status quite some time ago. -their locality is Malaysia, as the name implies, not "dehaani", haha. There's no such thing as a dehaani...

Is Scolopendra close to molting? Close-up photo included.

That or it’s about to lay eggs. Laying season has started and the pede doesn’t look discolored yet.

    SA giant on eggs

Sounds very good! Drop water a little at a time as you’ve done already - I found it to be the way to go!

    SA giant on eggs

Closer to two! And yes, do moisten the substrate whatever it takes, humidity needs to be kept at the same level as what you’d expect usually: moist substrate, and not damp.. I use critter keepers that allow me to pour in water without even opening the enclosure, which is a plus..

    Molt Problem with Scolopendra heros

I missed the raised part - sounds like you could have a bit of a problem on your hands. But as long as it eats... :)

    Molt Problem with Scolopendra heros

If it’s only a black dorsal line as you first described in the original post, that’s perfectly normal. At least not abnormal. Still, a pic would be needed to confirm anything. As you wish. Perhaps it’s wiser to wait for a few days and see.

    SA giant on eggs

Damn. Do keep in mind that brooding is seasonal. You could very well be a parent for the second time !
