    Bought a mystery box

Learning the scientific names is pretty easy with repeat exposure. Maybe just write down the Latin names by the enclosures so when you do maintenance you see the name again?

    It’s time to restock

If you are worried about contaminated soil you can always perform the cricket test before using for your Ts or other animals. I’ve personally had no problems with the bagged top soil from my local Home Depot

    Substrates

I use a blend of Peat Moss, Bagged Top Soil, Sand, and sometimes chopped pieces of moss. Works well for me and if you dont use the moss its dirt cheap

Can you keep an aboreal like avicularia avicularia with a fossorial?

You may never see the H. gigas come out or the Avic go down but a lot happens when we are not looking. My H. gigas comes out of its burrow almost every day ive noticed (usually to foul the water dish)

why my B.hamorii want move out from the cage

May just not be settled if you just rehoused. Substrate also is moist so may not like that. I'd wait for the sub to dry out and see if it settles in nicely

    Looking for advice

If you keep it somewhere pitch black there are better odds of it being out when you check on it. Otherwise, checking at night is your best bet.

    Overthinking question

I personally mix 1 part top soil and 2 parts peat moss. Then I add sand as needed to improve drainage/aeration. For me just topsoil is too heavy and turns to mud and peat alone is too dusty for my taste

    Overthinking question

I wouldnt rehouse just to change the substrate. Just use different substrate after its next molt or so. Have you considered just doing something like peat moss or topsoil/sand?

    Cricket Sickos

Another thing worth noting is if you arent in a serious rush I've just driven to petsmart and bought 8 crickets put in a tupperware of substrate and waited. 3-4 weeks later hundreds of pinheads.

    Tong Feeding + Food Aversion

As someone who tong feeds on occasion (mostly with my arboreal Ts) I’ve never had an issue. I don’t shove the roach in their face I just put it against the side of the enclosure so the T can feel the vibrations

What T do you regret NOT getting?

Eauthlus sp Red Thought I might eventually find one that was confirmed female..that never happened xd EDIT: Oh I guess the name changed my bad

    Lasiadora parayabana

My 8” female looks beautiful post molt the setae is like a reddish/pinkish color but it quickly dulls down to a more muted brownish pink and the black becomes less striking. Mine is a bit skittish but tends to be out in the open as long as you don’t accidentally touch the enclosure
