Tiny housing as well. He is maybe an inch across and in a tiny cube right now. I don't think I could even see fangs.

I will try this one when I am home. He is too small for a water dish so I will spray, this def sounds like a possible...
So here is a weird situation. My pumpkin patch molted about 2 weeks ago. I have tried feeding since day 7 every other day and all he does is kill the cricket then place it in the corner. He never actually eats and just lets it die. He is superrrrr skinny. Any idea what's wrong?
A short youtube video of some of my T.Stirmi's feedings. I love the little dude, and can't wait for it to be massive.

I wouldn't use these for arboreal tarantulas. the bolt did end up rusting anf the lid bows a lot with my t.stirmi. Would recommend for desert terrestrial Ts though
The metal probably won't stop a little warping from occurring, but this thing has thick acrylic that "shouldn't" warp, about quarter inch. As well, I actually think that long slit on top will prevent warping as that is normally where the humidity is absorbed the most and starts bowing...
Haha I can see those all too familiar splash zones of where the liquid cement ended up where it wasn't supposed to be. looks like it only hit the bottom though so who cares. Great looking hand made tank!
You are correct, humidity is hard to keep, but I like the increased ventilation. I mist it almost every other day with this little monster. Its a t. stirmi though and definitely needs it.
The one thing I forgot to mention about these is how hard the lid closes...because of the metal lock's...
For anyone interested in very sturdy acrylic cage alternatives, I'm testing out using acrylic ballot boxes that i've drilled holes in.

They can be a little pricey as you get into the larger sizes...
So, she has finally burrowed and has had her lid complete for about 4-5 days. Next question if anyone knows, how long should I let her settle in there before attempting a feeding? Thanks for the responses so far!
Its in about a 7"x3"x10" container with about 7" of substrate. Right after I posted, and I went and looked around the forums and some people say it takes up to 3 weeks for them to burrow so I won't worry again unless she has done nothing for a month.
Thanks for the reply!
Hi all,
I recently aquired a red trapdoor spider from Ken the Bug Guy and have had it for about 4 days. It has yet to make any attempt at using my premade burrow or developing its own. Has anyone run into this problem or knows what might be the cause?
Thanks
