Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. Yes, I have some pics of him on a jack o lantern pumpkin. He was wandering around on it and it just looked great! I don't know how I came up with his name- it just seemed right. Sometimes the most random things are the best.
Well, I have reached that sad milestone: my first T has died. He was a beautiful Avic avic and lived quite a long time after maturing. Rice Crispy Treat was a great first T- he was calm, easy to care for, and helped me overcome my arachnophobia. I will miss him. :(
When I was a kid, my mom learned the hard way to always check my pockets before washing my pants. I was (and still am) a major tomboy. I would wander around the woods in my back yard, picking up cool rocks, fungus, etc and put them in my pockets until I could get home and inspect my finds more...
The dog could get impacted due to the fibrous nature of the stuff...watch to make sure it's not straining to defecate. If it can't poop, take it to the vet. Impacted dogs become lethargic and will not eat or may vomit. Your pup will probably be fine. Call the vet if its behavior changes.
poor baby! I would try a fly mask, as suggested. If you put a bit if vinegar in the horse's water, it helps repel flies as well. I hope he feels better soon, and I wish you the best of luck.
Good idea to go to the vet, just in case. My cocker spaniel would get little pink, benign growths. They wouldn't bug him, they just kinda looked a bit weird. I hope it's something harmless like that for your dog.
I was watching Discovery Channel last night, and there was a show on about deadly creatures. They mentioned 2 things that I thought were interesting, but perhaps may not be true.
A. A tarantula bite (they don't mention a species) to a human isn't deadly (barring a severe allergic reaction)...
