I am starting this thread because I recently had someone ask some questions regarding a breeding loan.
I understand, breeding loans are always a little nerve wracking when you don't know the person. breeding spiders in general is always iffy. If the male is older or has already bred enough to...
You should give some craft stores a try. A lot of times you can get the same or similar boxes at hobby lobby, michaels, or one of the other craft stores in your area.
I agree that CB over WC is generally better when purchasing a Tarantula. one of the things you have to consider though is that a pet store first and foremost is a business. Most of the petstores go for WC spiders because they are much cheaper. if they are no longer available and its easier to...
Thanks for the clarification. I understand what you were saying now.
On another note I picked them up yesterday, everyone is happy and healthy. Once they get a bit more settled I will attempt pairing them up. I am planning on doing it relatively soon as the male has already been mature for...
so are you saying that the dwarf is not a behlei? Everything I have found so far has implied that there are 2 size variations, similer to hapalopus sp. columbia I would assume. I would love if you could point me to a source where I could read up some more on the variation.
I have seen these ones raised since they were slings and surprisingly they had fairly quick growth rate. Much faster than other species of aphonopelma that I have experienced. I am picking them up tomorrow so if things work out we can start another thread to track sling growth of this species.
does anyone have any info regarding the two different variations of aphonopelma behlei. The ones I am getting are only about 3-3.5 inches but mature. I have read that there are 2 variations in size. from all my research it seems that the only difference is size and local. one being about 5...
this is good to know thanks for the input. I am a fan of aphonopelma as well and so was going to pick them up but was unsure if there was enough interest for me to try breeding them.
It seems like a lot of people are more interested in the more colorful aphonopelmas, which is completely...
I got a group of CB adult aphonopelma belhei and was thinking of breeding them but wanted to see if there were enough people interested in this species to warrant it. I see a lot of people on here that like aphonopelmas
but not sure how everyone feels about behlei. Would anyone be interested...
my roaches are
A. tesselata
G. portentosa
L. subsincta
L. verrucosa
eublaberus species ivory
B. Canifer
blaberus colosseus
Elliptorhina javanica
B. Dubia
Nauphoeta cinerea
I agree that roaches are underrated. My colonies are varrying sizes. Some producing well others just started...
Wow this took a very dark turn. For starters I never said anything about you being rich or ripping anyone off. On the contrary I said "Good for you, although the morality of taking advantage of that deal is bouncing around I think most people would probably grab it if they had the...
You found a lot of very nice Tarantulas.
I have a feeling that you are going to think I am raining on your parade again. I understand you got a great deal. Good for you, although the morality of taking advantage of that deal is bouncing around I think most people would probably grab it if...
Here comes the slippery slope.
Maybe we could have people register with an actual address so if they get to many dummy point we can cain them.
We could also make them spell out the Latin name phonetically that way even if they know the Latin name we can make sure they are pronouncing it...
You have a very nice collection. This is also an amazing first for me. I have been in the hobby a little over 15 years now and this is the first time I have ever heard anyone say they think they completed their collection.
I wasn't going to comment but your last post made me feel that I had to. The whole reason I posted about the rosea and the trade was because you went on about how they were giving improper care and that you rescued the boehmei. It immediately made me think of someone brand new to the hobby...
Ok, congrats on the boehmei. They are beautiful. I am wondering though. Why didn't you just buy the boehmei outright from him. Trading a Rosie and 10 bucks is a pretty good deal so I'm guessing he would have let it go for pretty cheap. You've mention about how horrible he was set up and how...
