Depending on how damp you need it, you can always dampen one area, then when the humidity starts to drop, dampen a different area and allow the first spot to dry a little.
If you're going to need an overall damp enclosure though, excellent ventilation and organic cleanup is key. Any damper...
Congratulations! Glad to hear all of your Ts are doing well, perhaps a fresh molt on the way for your a.purpurea! Hope you're able to relax in between the hectic life of having a newborn. Maybe the Ts can watch her for a few hours one evening :p
Oh my goodness, I would be extremely pissed off if someone ever said that to me. Alright, they scare him, but? That's not a reason to kill another person's pet. I'm not sure how I'd rationally respond to that kind of statement honestly.
Ohhh those g.roseas lol Gotta love their temperaments. Two of mine can be pretty mean at times...other times, perfectly sweet and docile. But anyway! P.irminia are pretty photosensitive, forgot to mention that earlier.
Sounds like this could be classified as "worst part of the snake hobby," people assuming all snakes are venomous...only venomous. I think I'd get painfully exhausted of that kind of ignorant & self-righteous attitude lol.
Children are generally more open and receptive to new things, they have that genuine interest to learn still. Unfortunately they tend to grow up and things change, but it's nice while it lasts, we might as well take advantage.
Now if only we could get the adults to learn how to keep their hands...
I'm the opposite, I talk about the hobby practically any chance I get. Good way to dispel some bad thoughts, and share a little knowledge. Sometimes the topic is well received, usually it's not but I try to turn it around. Managed to get a few otherwise ignorant people to scratch their heads
I've gotten this quite a bit too.
" You have 12 of those running around your room???"
Yeah, you should visit other collectors in the hobby, they have dozens running around.
Ever had anyone ask you something really bizarre about your Ts? Or a particularly odd comment?
I'm not talking general care questions or comments like "that thing is huge"... but, for example, when I got my first T, one of the first things my dad said was, "That can't fly, right?"
Another...
I have a short list of Ts I really really want written down on a notepad. Otherwise, it's just a mental list. I'd try sticking to the physical copy but honestly I lose lists faster than my patience during rush hour so :wacky:
One of the few plants I actually know how to care for, maranta leucoreura, sdsnybny is correct.
Indirect sunlight is ideal, although it will be alright with less light. Keep it pretty wet, a good watering once a week should do unless you have a particularly dry home. Using fertilizer/plant...
Ahh these are all gorgeous, I'd really love to have some CP someday.
Are you able to obtain clippings easily to start new plants? I know my mom does this with a lot of her plants but she says some are easier to start new growth than others.
Sounds like a bad sac. If it is some fungus/parasite like pannaking mentioned, I wonder if future ones will be bad as well? I'd assume so, yes? My experiences with eggsacs are very limited, but the crusty white substance has me interested.
Both are cute and fun to observe but I'd probably go with p.undatus. I like their markings more and we have them in my area so I've had some experience with them. Curious little guys. I'd like to find a p.audax though, I've heard lots of great things about them.
Are you looking to get adults? Juveniles? Scorplings? Asian Forest Scorpions get to be a decent size.
I would say juveniles would be fine in that size tank, just make sure they're getting their food alright. Scorplings would be way too small. House them in something smaller until they grow up...
Please post a review of them when your T arrives! I'm curious to see how well the packaging and all that is, always good to see new reviews for sites.
Hope you enjoy your p.irminia! They're beautiful Ts, I've been raising one from a sling since last July. My juvie does seem a little flighty, so...
I haven't lost a T yet, but I've been expecting it from a few days after bringing home my first one, since it was a pet store acquired mature male g.rosea. At the time, I actually didn't know the difference between male & females, so I've been calling him a her ever since, it just stuck. Name's...
