    Poecilotheria metallica emerges after moult

I hadn't seen this guy for awhile, but that was because it was molting. It finally came out of the fake tree and was bigger than ever.

    A Few Questions About Superworms

Yeah, not using cockroaches or crickets really puts you in a bind. Plus superworms/mealworms tend to escape into the soil pretty quickly. I've heard of people even throwing small fish in to their tank, but that seems extreme. Apparently the fish flop around and attract the tarantula's...

Tarantula molting upright looks like its taken out of sci-fi movie!

Neat video. Interesting how striking the new skin colors are compared to its previous one. How long did it take for it to molt?

    The least desireable species...

Well, I have to go with Haplopelma lividum. I got one thinking it would be cool to have something that actually fed agressively, but now I think it's just a mean SOB. I can't open the tank without it trying to bite me. I do agree about G. rosea being frustrating. They don't know how to hunt...

    New tarantula questions

    New tarantula questions

I did research this and sought advice from local pet stores on how to take care of it. However most pet store workers don't seem to know anything about tarantulas, less a theraphosa species. I looked at several care sheets online and prepared my tank using tips from those sheets. So far it's...

    New tarantula questions

I recently acquired a young female T. blondi from backwater reptiles (maybe not the best place to go but it is what it is). This is my first tarantula, and I have questions about basic care. Firstly, how do I know when it's getting ready to molt? I want to make sure I don't put food in that...

    Scolopendra subspinipes

Vietnamese Giant Centipede. I was sent this in place of the Haitian Giant I originally ordered. Very aggressive, burrowing species.
