    yeah, Peter jaeger revisioned it. in around 2007 i believe (around that time). theres a scientific paper online regarding it, but Peter jaeger also has a facebookpage where someone asked him, and he explained why he renamed the species after the singer. regards, Niek

    Phoneutria are definitely not the most venomous, they pack a punch, yes, but a spider that causes (only counting the documented) a couple of deaths for every several hundred bite cases, of wich only a couple needed/got antivenom treatment, i wouldn't call them the most venomous spider.     i'll get pictures later, but 2 days after the creation of the first sac, the female was on the prowl again (well, on the wait, would be better to describe her behavior :) ) she was eating continuously, never have i seen a spider eat so much after dropping a sac... but this one was unstoppable...

Cameroon from a buddy of mine. after 3 days i introduced him to the female, and they just wandered about a bit. 2 days passed and the male lied dead on the ground in the casting net from the female, which had a nice big abdomen :3...

    sorry, i was misstaken... indeed, Mamfe Road is in Cameroon... however i believe this species was given the name '' gold nigeria'' earlier on, thats why i thought it was from Nigeria... most Araneomorphe are collected from Cameroon right now with African shipments...
