I really would like to know exactlly what the venom potency is and the common name. Please reply ASAP if you have any information, links, websites, etc. about this scorpion!
Thanks
PS: I already know how to care for Heterometrus species, but I want to know specifically about the Heterometrus...
I've been searching for info. on the Heterometrus petersii (a type of forest scorpion) and cannot find hardly anything. Thats why I came to this forum.
Again, does anyone know what venom potency Heterometrus petersii have? Is it a 2? What is their common name? Please reply ASAP!
If there are knats in the habitat does that mean there is improper ventilation?
I do not have any in my setups now, but I have read about people that do and was just wondering.
Do scorpions have to have a hard flat surface for the male to deposit his sperm on? Would a log hide work okay for that(like the arched tunnel ones the pet stores sell)?
Do males wave their tail above their heads in circles before mating? Do both males and females do this for no reason or is it some sort of pre-mating dance.
Congratulations on the birth of your emperors.
Leave the babies with the mom until they molt, which usually takes 1-2 weeks depending on the temperatures. Once the molt and come off the mother's back move the into a separate environment/habitat. You can separate the babies each into their own...
Thanks for all your help. I found out that my scorpions are Heterometrus laoticus. When I purchased them it only described them as Forest Scorpions.
Thanks again!
