In my experience (which is limited) it will grow back a surprising amount of the leg in one molt but it will look pretty thin and not fully developed is how I would describe it. It will fix its self no problem though. Losing one leg is no big deal. I had a T. stirmi lose two legs from an...
The top of my "wishlist" and highest priority is a Euathlus sp. red at the moment so if anyone's trying to get rid of an adult or juvie or a few slings or whatever pm me please!!! also in the back of my mind would be like a G. pulchra or A. chalcodes or something. I'm a big fan of NW...
Yeah you can't get them in big chains but every reptile store near me has them. I love them too since they're 1. Black 2. stackable and 3. not as disturbing as kritter keepers to open since the doors are better. Obviously not telling the OP why they're good but just a little recommendation to...
It's the small, tall exo terra tank so there's ventilation on the top of it. But they're putting it on its "back" so it can be a long tank for their terrestrial. So now the "top" is the "side" and there's no top ventilation since that's where the doors that are usually in the front are.
I'm not going to end the existence of the species by flushing one stinkbug down the toilet. If I could, I would but there's no way I could make a difference with that. I don't like to kill bugs seeing as a lot of my time is spent taking care of the ones I paid for.
Thanks dude. Conveniently I have tons of those melons as they are my favorite fruits. And the one i found in my room is living on eggcrate at the moment. So I'll throw some melon in tomorrow and it should be fine.
I have a problem with stink bugs in/around my house. It's a bit too cold in New York still for me to feel comfortable letting them go outside. Can I keep them alive on cricket food and the "water" crystal things? I have an empty kritter keeper type thing and i want to keep them in there until...
Well I've pretty much given up hope on him giving me his T. It's kinda disappointing but I haven't heard from the guy in a few days. He seemed so sure that he wanted to get rid of it. :/ if anything changes I'll post about it in the classifieds but I'm doubtful that I'll get it at this point.
Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get it today. I'll let you know when that changes and what I decide to do with it. I really appreciate your opinions and I love reading your discussions.
Yeah I think he's willing to give away the tank because there's no way he can take it out to bring it to me lol. Yeah hopefully I can find someone near me. I just need to make sure he's actually giving it to me. I'll find out tomorrow.
Someone I (vaguely) know has a P. regalis that they've had for several years but they keep it in a terrestrial set up and don't take care of it anymore. I tried telling him to rehouse it but he's scared of getting bit by it. Now they're looking to get rid of it and I'm the only one they know...
Obviously I can't say for the regalis since I don't have one but the tokay would definitely prefer a bigger tank lol. I really don't want to change the thread topic but just wondering if you've "trained" the tokay to not bite you every time you go near it? My experience with them is not the best...
I LOVE these breeding boxes if it's the right size for your tarantula. I have the medium ones I think for my B. smithi and N. chromatus. They look very good and they have a very smooth top opening door unlike most kritter keepers so I feel it disturbs them less while opening. They are stackable...
I really like how simple terrestrial tanks look. I've had no luck with live plants, with either keeping them alive and with tarantulas digging them up. So I put fake plants in all my tanks but none of mine look particularly spectacular. I put all my needs for a pretty tank into my crested gecko...
One from an expo and a couple from a LPS that I won't be buying from again. The rest (and likely any I get in the future) from the classifieds on here.
I hated spiders until I saw a "rose hair" at a pet store so I bought a G. rosea at the next reptile convention and so far so good. Thankfully (or unfortunately if you talk to my family) I found this website and really fell in love with different species and got a few more. I'm sure one day I'll...
