...container. If you put "Haplotank for Beginners" in the search i wrote about them a bit. They're great for juvie to adult stage. You can push it to adult but I felt bad so I moved my lividus. They've been around for awhile. I love mine but I need to make a larger one from scratch...
Thank you very much, brother!! I'll try to copy yours, love that vents too might aswell add plenty in mine i'll rehouse it later and do the exact same set up as yours
My lividus was out last night and that haplotank is a tad too small for her. Tonight I made a bin for her and I just remembered our conversation. I took some pictures so you can have a reference. Notice the bottom. Very moist but not a puddle. Then it gets drier the closer you get to the...
...layers stay moist. There's not much to it honestly. I haven't killed one yet lol. As you can see the one cage looks pretty darn wet (lividus) and you'd be right. That's overwatering, and it'll dry. 1/3 of the soil should stay moist (bottom) then drier up top. Overflow the waterdish...
Only spider I’d maybe refer to as “aggressive” is the brazilian wandering spider.
99,99% of so called “aggressive” tarantulas are actually defensive. And all the lividus I’ve dealt with were pretty happy to defend themselves at the slightest movement.
Awesome species though!
My experience has been the more they mature, the lunatic comes out more. I love my lividus though. Once you find out a system that works for you, they really aren't that difficult. That doesn't mean you should ever let your guard down. But, my cobalt blue hasn't chased me down the hall like...
...tops but the side clarity is pretty good. Just have to tie up some artwork on the lids. Shes at 7" now, i think she may get to 8"🤞 But im happy with her at this size. My E murinus just molted and my lividus female is molting as I write this. Doesn't get any better. Life without T's...
I'm not sure if anyone else watches grindlers creatures, but they also had sort of a close call rehousing a lividus. It tried to run up the catch tube his wife was using to rehouse it. She let go and jumped back in tears. Fortunately, she was fine and the spider just stopped at the end of the...
I wouldn't dream of putting my fingers anywhere near a lividus burrow (especially as I'm coaxing her out) Still love Dave, but please don't do this. He's being peer pressured by Exotics Lair lmao
Yeah very bolty, I'm surprised a T can move that fast honestly. I don't blame him too much because that T was zooming. I was honestly just upset when it jumped off the table from that height, and then he also almost let it out of the enclosure again lol.
That C. lividus was determined not to be rehoused wasn't it? I guess once tarantulas get riled up, it takes a while before they chill out again. I suspect that Dave's pet room is sealed up enough so that a runaway doesn't necessarily turn into an escape. I don't have that luxury.
...I've never rehoused an old world T that big or any T that is that fast, but I was honestly very disappointed having to watch what had went down in that video since I have very high expectations for Dave. I believe Dave should've treated the C. lividus with more respect and took better...
I got a CL from a store- it was the only one of its group not doing well. I have a female that’s been great for the last 2 years and was hoping to raise this one to breed her. I took him home not realizing exactly how bad he was doing. I should have because it got stuck on its back when he was...
...spiders, it just isn't the exact flavor of pet hole I thought I was getting, Also, O. aureotibialis is more than double the price of a C. lividus on this vendor's website. But, this spider sounds very similar to yours. I see it at the mouth of its burrow almost every evening and it's a great...
...bummer when something like that happens. Especially at an expo where it's not exactly easy to follow up with the vendor. I will pump up the lividus a little, though - I love my girl! She's beautiful and sitting out on the mouth of her burrow 90% of the time. Eats like a champ and takes...
Unloading 4 photos of an unsexed juvenile tarantula sold to me at a local reptile show by a tarantula breeder as a 1.5" sling (last photo). Sold as O. aureotibialis. It molted again about a week ago and finally came out of its burrow enough to get a photo. Probably about 3.5-4" now. Is it C.lividus?
H pulchripes are the sweetest Old World's one could ask for. Even sweeter than my C lividus. She also does magic tricks. I'm open to name suggestions if somebody has a good one.
Also, posted some Calligraphy i worked on recently. Always be true to yourself my Tarantula friends.
