Bit late here, has the T been found yet?
I lost a PoecilotheriaRegalis once, luckily I actually seen it bolt to a crack in the wall, I tried to coax it out with some feeders but after a couple days with no success I decided to start chiseling away part of of the wall, good job I did as it had...
...experiences mentioned, keep my dogs outside in a kennel and cats don't get in the T room.
I have had a T escape on me though a PoecilotheriaRegalis, it disappeared in a crack in the wall, when I eventually got it back it had doubled in size, and I had a plaster job to do with the hole I...
My male Poecilotheriaregalis lived for over three years after maturing, one of my male OBTs grew from 1/2 inch to maturity and died in nine or ten months... The "normal life spans" of Ts are extremely broad generalizations. Lifespans far shorter or longer are far from unusual, and totally...
thank you. This T is an absolute beauty and very large. The coloration does not suit a male. But it is daytime in the Netherlands so I will try looking for the missing parts, haha.
I honestly can't tell if the female parts are there or not from these photos. I'm leaning towards male because I think it wouldn't be so hard to tell if female, but I could be missing something. This is an example of what you should be able to identify if female...
Poecilotheria vittata keeps a monochromatic pallet while still looking quite evil with its eyebrows in my opinion. I do know they're an endangered species so it may be a little hard to come across. Regalis is not a bad pick though! I only have one Pokie being metallica (I know, basic) but...
So I kindasorta randomly decided my next addition is most likely a Poecilotheria. I'm looking for two things in a pokie: A high white/black/grey contrast and the fabulous angry eyebrows. I've been sleeping on the regalis, having considered it the "vanilla" pokie. The contrast, especially on...
...into the hobby as well! Even sending me marketplace ads for tarantula's that are in need of a new home.
For now I got:
Poecilotheriaregalis sub adult female
Davus pentaloris sub adult gender unknown
Ceratogyrus darlingi large juvenile/small sub adult gender unknown
Monocentropus balfouri...
Who said it's abundant? I have like one
exotic store in my town, and like 2-3 in the near town, none of which has Regalis in it, neither any other poecilotheria. I bought it from other keeper that I barely found.
As I had both female and male I was thinking maybe I could try to breed them...
There are a lot of posts on this forum that discuss this and other breeding answers.
Rather than expect people to take time out of their lives for your interest, at least research the topic first. Then if you have specific questions come back.😉
If you take this approach, you’ll learn way more...
I'm still a newbie in the hobby and have never bred tarantulas in my entire life, though soon my P. Regalis will become old enough to breed (yeah "newbie" and "poecilotheria" in one sentence, judge me). So I was wondering what should I know before attempting this. Like I know that people take...
Hello! I recently purchased this tarantula as a guaranteed female, but I thought I would get a second opinion. I posted about an hour ago but removed my post because I was informed the angle was wrong. Hopefully, this provides a better view. I apologize for the multiple posts; I am new to this forum
I can't recommend pokies enough. Definitely get a P cambridgei and a P irminia. They are very similar to Poeciletheria in terms of care, and ime more defensive. Not as fast, but very fast when they want to be. Besides that, they are quick growers and beautiful T's.
I wouldn't worry too...
