Active Members & Old Timers

Active Members

Active members are members who receive some extra functionality because they continue to contribute useful content to the site. With minimal effort, it's easy to become an Active Member. You just have to make 15 useful posts (in informational forums) in the previous 45 days. Posting nothing but "Fluff" will get your posts removed and your active membership revoked.

Some of the extra permissions that you receive when you become an active member include:

  • More choices to use in post ratings.
  • More storage space for your images in the gallery.
  • You can create threads in the For Sale/Trade/Want to Buy forum.
  • More time to edit your posts.

Please note that once you meet the requirements to become an active member, it can take up to an hour for the promotion to occur. (There is an hourly process that checks for promotions for users that have visited the site recently).

Old Timers

Old Timers are members who have been here a long time. To be considered an "Old Timer" you must have been registered for 10 years or more and have made 50 or more informational posts over the 10+ years that you have been here.

*** We understand that some people may want to utilize our For Sale/Trade/Want to Buy forum without contributing anything useful to the site. For those without the time or initiative to contribute, we offer the option to purchase user upgrades). We would prefer you contribute something useful to the site, but this gives users a way to buy/sell things immediately if they must (while still having a barrier of entry that will mitigate spammers/scammers). All other restrictions still apply to premium members.
