What Am I?

About 3 inches. Aphonopelma chalcodes? I know diddly about IDing Aphon's, but it looks local to me - I'm in New River AZ. Someone wants to give me this cutie, but I want to know what I'm taking on before I say yes.

Also, female, right? Our wild chalcodes males around here are smooth, skinny boys!
Looks like chalchodes to me and as far as I know, chalchodes males upon maturity, their legs turn all black. It might be a male that has not matured yet. If I am wrong I hope someone more knowledgeable with chalchodes can correct me.

A. Chalcodes. All day.

Common name 'Arizona Blond' and commonly found in New River and throughout Arizona.

Mature males will look like this until they have post-ultimate molt where they hook out, look very leggy and they are almost all black with golden/brown carapace.

Looks like chalcodes. Mine was caught near Phoenix, confirmed female from spermethecae sexing. She was skinny when I found her, so plumpness is not the best indicator of sex. Nor is color. Mine changed colors drastically between molts.

Yep, I figured. Got adult males all over the demmed place every night here, but the girls stay hidden. Haven't seen a girl in 25 years of residency, can't keep the boys off the porch.
