P. sazimai #1 - male or female?

Looks male to me, as I see no opening/flap, but I always like to have other experienced people weigh in.

P. sazimai #1 - male or female?

How big is it? Look really wet still. I’m pretty sure this is a girl. I see a clear outline of the flap. More clear than mine I just posted.

Was 2 and 1/4 inches before molt, now about 3 inches.

I thought at first that I saw a flap with the naked eye, but then looking at the photo, you can see that there is no opening next to that area.

That's a very girly girl - and your pic is great!

How is it a girl if there is no opening? There's a light colored patch in the center, but plenty of hair growing all over it. No opening.

@boina Would you mind taking a look at my P. sazimai I posted. Mine is smaller about 1.75 to 2 inch DLS. I think it is a female. May still be too small to tell though.

@nicodimus22 do you see the “bunny rabbit ears shape”? That is a sign of a female in many species. It will be even stronger next molt. I agree it’s a girl.

No I don't, but I am looking for a flap and a slit, but neither are present, so I'm still confused.

@nicodimus22 the important part is directly above the light colored patch - the ear shaped structures @CyclingSam mentioned. That's actually the uterus externus or 'flap', but you can even see the spermathecae as slightly darker stripes going vertically through the flap. Your pic is so incredibly clear that there's absolutely no doubt it's a female.

From this side you won't actually be able to see any opening as it would be the opening into the uterus externus/flap - only visible from the outside.

OK, I guess it's a girl! Thank you everyone for looking at it.
