@Kat Maehl Did you find this locally or did you buy from somewhere? The reason I ask is the Eupalaestrus sp that have been mentioned would be way out of their known ranges, now I know tarantulas don't understand borders but still it would be excessive. Eupalaestrus campestratus are found in brazil,Paraguay and Argentina.
Eupalaestrus wiejenberghi is also found in the same 3 countries. Infact I'm lead to believe that no Eupalaestrus have been found in Central Americ (i could be wrong)
There is a species that looks similar that's native Guatemala, Mexico and Costa rica Chicovoit I believe. The species I'm thinking of is Citharacanthus longipes I'm not sure that's a valid name anymore either
@Kat Maehl The fact it was caught locally should in theory make it a little easier to id (famous last words.). If it Citharacanthus longipes the mature males of this species are beautiful almost jet vlack with red setae and a sort of red/pink starburst carapace
