I'm working on it

Ok so there we go just added more soil for him or her. I'm hoping it will climb the side of the tank so I can get a pick of it's bottom side so yall can try and decide if it's male or female for me
I'd say adding 2 more centimetres isn't going to make any difference. You should probably fill it more than halfway through.

Yeah still way too much climbing space I'm afraid. Sorry to bang on about this but as yesterday's thread has disappeared I thought it bore repeating. A fat male Lp is exactly the sort of spider who's going to fall and break himself on the furniture. Substrate looks much better though.
Incidentally, what sort of lid do you have on the tank?

@Nosiris when I put the new substrate in I made sure to have no more than 6" from the substrate to the top of the tank. It's sitting in between 5 and 5 1/2". I pulled the tape measure out and all hahaha. If you still think I need more I Still have more substrate but won't it stress it out if I keep messing with it's environment?? As far as the lid it's a plastic lid that latches closed in the corners it does have the screen look going through the middle of it but the holes are pretty big I would say bigger than the metal screen lids. Then it has slots that run down the sides of the lid. Now those I would be worried about because the are kinda small. I don't know if I could rig something to the bottom of the lid to solve this problem. Hey and dont worry about the persistence of the substrate. My T wouldn't of probably lasted long with out yalls input and I'm grateful for that

Ok cool, it's just that in the photo it looks to me like way too much space there. Personally I would put a bunch more substrate in, I'm pretty sure. He's probably not going to be overjoyed that you're messing about in there again but once you've got him well set up you can leave him alone for a couple of weeks, and you'll be secure in the knowledge that you've done your best to give him an ideal environment to live in.

And yes you're right I was worried about some sort of mesh in the lid. You want to avoid things he can get his little claws stuck in.

No! Sorry for not being clear: I would recommend no mesh-like surfaces anywhere. Smooth surfaces with drilled holes are safest.

@Nosiris hahaha I figured that but wanted to double check.........ill send you a picture of the lid when I get back home and tell me what you think
