G.pulchra sexing

This is my little G.pulchra with an LS of about 2". I had originally thought this one was female then after posting a photo on here the opinion was that it was male.

Unless thats what you wanted! :D
That's what i thought at first. However my friend own a sibling of this tarantula (one moult behind mine though) and despite being smaller it is so much more obviously male and looks nothing like mine. What makes you think mine is a boy?

this is definitely male. mine just recently molted and confirmed female. look at my post on this section there is a pic of pulchra and see for yourself the difference.

I assume you mean this one? http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/gallery/showimage.php?i=845&c=9 If the flash on my camera had been stronger the two would look exactly the same.
I've seen an even smaller male of this species and the denser hair is very obvious even though he's a moult behind mine. Never mind, I had an aureostriata that everyone here thought was a male yet I thought female. It turned out to be a female as I got a hold of its next moult. I expect this'll happen here too.

i would say that foto is a little too unfocused on the exactly critical parts to say for sure... but i would say female actually

I have a male and a female. And your picture looks exactly like my male.... On some species that dense patch of half moon shaped hair between the book lungs can be different.... but in general females of most species have a curtain of hair in th same area that points downward.... not all but most....

I would bet $ its male.

You can see in that thread the curtain of hair that I am talking about...... its a dense patch of short hair that points downward.....females have it males dont.

The photo was taken right where it needed to be taken. On of the better pics I have seen actually.

i absolutely agree with talkenlate, i would bet this is male i had a male like this few month ago last year and it looks exactly like this. the flash without flash from my pic it would look the same it should the same as that on the pic. maybe i could take a pic of my females ventral pic later or sooner coz i took that pic when she was in premolt. now it looks totally different.

Im saying its male not female  In the posts above I was just clarifying why it was not a female by saying what females looked like.
