Davus pentaloris
So I acquired what I have Labeled as Cycosternum Fasciatum not to long ago and everything I look up on them I get a mix of Cycosternum Fasciatum and Davus fasciatus as the Sp. What is the acceptable terminology on these guys?
Former Cyclosternum fasciatum is renamed Davus pentaloris (Arachnology (2016) 17 (2), 61–92).
Davus fasciatus is currently not reported to be in the hobby. Nearly every picture to appear on the web incorrectly depicts D. fasciatus and are misidentified.
Davus pentaloris is characteristic of their orange carapace.
Davus fasciatus is characteristic of their black/dark carapace.
