If this photograph reflects how this tarantula looks in life, then this is Aphonopelma gabeli which is common in west Texas and can be found along with A. hentzi. There is no west Texas variant of A. hentzi which look different from the A. hentzi found everywhere else in the country.
 
@xenesthis No problem! Many years ago I was in Loving County, Texas (around the Texas/ New Mexico border) and was finding A. gabeli and A. hentzi burrows near each other.
