Guys! I was just bitten by the most poisonous spider in the world! I was told their fangs were too small to pierce human skin! In all seriousness, I actually got bit while handling my opilione. I was trying to get a cool picture of the little guy and he crawled onto my arm. He then tried to "eat me"
Adorable! I honestly had no idea they could actually manage to bite haha. These guys were my "gateway" spider into loving all things insect related when I was a kid. Are they easy to keep as pets? what do they eat, fruit flies?
Dude, I dunno how to tell you this... If you're still alive, you don't have much time. That looks like a sydney wandering goliath bird eating black recluse, the most poisonous spider on the planet.
This actually happened twice. The first time I was just trying to get a cool picture of him and he climbed on me and eventually started to "eat me". The second time I tried to get him to do it again and then just let him do it until he decided he had enough. I was always told by people that my ball python would get huge and eat me. In reality, it was my little opilione.
um opiliones aren't venomous... they can however release a deterring odor that can be poisonous for animals, but don't worry you'll be fine. also the have mandibles like scorpions, so yet again, don't worry!
@Villagecreep I hope you know I was being sarcastic. It's a little hard to tell if you knew or not. I have been studying arachnology for almost a year. Needless to say, I wasn't actually concerned about the bite lol.
