So I was looking around my local pet shop and noticed this beautiful H.Mac. When I looked closer I noticed he/she was missing a leg. Well, I purchased him/her and got home, set up a temporary enclosure and during the transfer realised there are actually 3 missing legs. :(
As long as it can still move around so it can get to the water dish/bowl than I wouldn't worry. It will grow legs back in it's next molt.
Beautiful T and thanks for rescuing it!
@BCspiderman7 The missing legs definitely haven't affected mobility. Lol I found that out during the transfer. As soon as there's a molt, I'll give an update.
Wow, I can’t believe an LPS would sell this species or perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised after all the other posts I’ve seen... I am glad this lovely T was adopted by someone who will take good care of it!
As you found out, they can be super fast and unpredictable even with five legs (my little guy was so demure and easy to transfer but never let your guard down!). As you probably know, they also have very potent venom, so please avail yourself of the info on this forum, don’t hesitate to ask questions, and do take every precaution in working with this T!
