Phidippus are generally strongly associated with particular plants.
Lots of spiders are, actually.
Examples-
Coastal scrub and chaparral- P adumbratus
Sage scrub- phidippus johnsonii
Saltbush/creosote scrub- P californicus
Grassland- P octopunctatus
Conifer/oak forest- P otiosus
Its just a matter of figuring out the habitat each species likes.
Amazing , thanks for the info..... a person told me their parents had an orange tree in their back yard years ago and would often find bright orange jumpers in it... would that relate to its color moprh?
