@Olan this is the top of the spider. I was told that at her size, 2.5 inches, the markings could define sex. Any opinions?
If you get a clear view close-up of the underside, it would be better. Not sure when H. macs do, but they show pretty striking sexual dimorphism, with females being bone white and black, while males are more drab with browns. However, when sling/juvies, they look almost identical with that drab brown color.
 
It's hard to tell, but I think that carapace might be a little too bright for a male. So I'm tentatively guessing female. A better pic with a bright flash might help.
