Do you have a lot more air holes on the other sides? Because otherwise that avic is doomed. Living in extremely high humidity above open water with little ventilation? I give the spider a few month survival time at best...
I like the ideas of these, but honestly, bettas do prefer more space than what you may commonly see in pet shops. It's the same idea of thinking tarantulas need larger enclosures, but reversed.
The absolute minimum required space for one betta is a 2.5 gallon tank, but larger is better. Put a betta in a 10 gallon tank, and you will have a less-stressed, healthy fish. You can even add some non-flashy schooling fish as friends.
@Caseyface I appreciate for the info and your input, but I my Betta fish is very small my enclosure is 12x12x15 so he got more space to roam around. A lot bigger than any fish bowl that I usually see where they put their Betta fish.
Hey @eproxymous ! I hope I didn't come off as rude, I just hate to see even fish be uncomfortable their entire lives just due to misinformation. If the dimensions are 12x12x15, than that would be over 6 gallons, right? I have a hydroponic 5 gallon tank, 20 gallon community tank and another 55 gallon tank. The larger two are fully-planted, mature community tanks. I find aquariums to be very relaxing. <3 Some people hate coming to my house because all the filters, the running water, make them need to pee. oh well.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy your little guy. Most of my fish I have had for years, or raised from fry. It is always so cool to watch something grow up.
