@louise f Yeah, bolus it is! I started collecting these to keep track of my Versi's appetite, but then accidentally lost half of them so I stopped collecting.
The scientist part of my mind does find them pretty interesting, but it never occurred to me to keep them. Might make for an interesting observation/dissection for a class project. The goal: find out what remains after a spider eats it's meal. Materials: one bolus, one dead but intact insect of the same kind the spider ate, an exacto knife (maybe), and a pair of tweezers.
@JumpingSpiderLady Yep, pretty much what they do with owl pellets! The bolus has to be from an adult though, the ones I got in the picture are less than 1cm.
