Avicularia sp.
A

Avicularia sp.

I've gotten it IDed as A. avicularia and A. sp. Kwitara. I've kept it labelled as A. cf. avicularia, but apparently it's for sure A. avicularia (according to a couple people). Any help would be appreciated.
I agree, most unidentified Avics are from Guyana because of the mass exports out of there. I don't believe this is what is known as "metallica" in the pet trade as they do not have red setae with adult coloration. The recent revision shows the study of Guyana and their Avicularia species. All determined to be Avicularia avicularia morphotype#1 or morphotype#6. There are even slightly different color forms which can vary in size within some of the Avicularia avicularia morphotypes.

Avicularia sp. Kwitara is no exception. They were supposedly collected along the Kwitara River in Guyana. I believe the OP and sp. Kwitara are morphotype#1 as it fits the pics and color description to a T. :p
The hobby metallica I believe to be morphotype#6 because again, the pics and color description is dead on.

So if you wanted an answer of species you have one, but the dilemma with breeding is figuring out the color form which won't come with any certainty, only educated guesses.
