@VanessaS its sloped like a hill there is like 3 or 4 or so inches of substrate at the top of the hill. It gives him a place to dig while allowing the cage to look more appealing visually. The cage is only around 6 inches tall so there isn't much of a fall risk. Thanks for the concern and recommendation .
