You did put it in the right place. Unfortunately, I'm not that good at sexing this way so I have no idea what it might be. Good luck finding out.

When it molts you can post a good shot of that and I can help you out.

I saved it to my laptop and enlarged it, still a guess but It looks female. I am close to you Auburn, WA and can attempt to sex the molt for you if you'd like. Bring it or mail it to me.

Unfortunately I took a look at the molt and it's pretty shredded- no way it can be used. I guess I'll have to wait to get a better picture or until the next molt!
