A. genic sling

Brought home this fat little cutie pie today!
I'm getting an A. geniculata of the same size in the coming days, just waiting for the temperatures to rise a little more.
Can't wait, and now I have a clue what to expect. Thanks for sharing!

@Kendricks of course! I obviously haven't fed this one yet and I don't think it would take food if I did but I'm very excited to get to witness their feeding response! It's about 3/4"

@Paiige a geniculata refusing food, haha, haven't heard that one yet! :D
No, I get your point of course, it's likely even a geni says no when this... plumpy. :wideyed:
I'm curious, what can you tell about its behavior so far?

@Kendricks It's hard to tell much as I haven't rehoused it, it has plenty of space in the deli cup it came in...but I have dribbled a little water in the enclosure to give it a little bit of moisture and it attacks the water droplets as they roll down the sides :D
Also seems a little flighty and will run in circles if I move the container. Hasn't tried to bolt on me when the lid is off and I have a camera in its face, it seems to prefer staring me down ;)

@Paiige that sounds so cute. Running in circles. Look at that adorable little idiot! :D
As for attacking waters drops and streams, I read that a lot about this species and this adorable derpiness is one of the reasons I want one... You know what they say about pets and their owners! o_O

@Kendricks Yeah I call it my little dingbat. "Honey" is a tentative name but it depends on gender, we will see! I'm super excited for fast growth too

@Paiige ah, the name thing. My G. pulchra doesn't have a name yet, but my tentative ones are situational. From "Pummel" (plumpy) over "Drops" (like mentos, you know?) there are many, usually derogatory, names I come up with - all in good jest of course, I love her.
If my pulchra will be male, the name will be Drâculea (son of the Dragon). Kinda suits a pitch black pulchra I think.
Female, which I hope of course, no idea yet. I might stick with plumpy considering that lady's booty! :D

@Kendricks I have a bunch of tentative names too. My G pulchra was so small when I got it that I started saying "aww look at the tiny little smoosh" and now its name has officially become Smoosh. I haven't named the last few Ts I've gotten and I probably won't until I find out their genders...which will take a while, so I'll keep calling them ridiculous pet names until the time comes :p

@Paiige I had to Google what smoosh is. I wasn't prepared for the results. :wideyed:
(And ridiculous pet names are the way to go, high five sister! :D)

@Kendricks I can't even imagine what results you got - it was just a cute word that seemed to fit the baby talk I used for it!
