Found this lil fella in my basement, caught him in a mayo jar and this is him eating a large cricket. I live in Iowa I know the picturestatus not the best buy it looks too dark to be a wolf spider
@Gabby Gordita She'll make an egg sac first which she'll carry around. Then the babies will hatch and (I think) ride around on her for a while. Eventually, you will need to worry about babies escaping but not until you see the egg sac at least.
She's very fat and I've found a few gravid females in my area already, so I assume she's cooking something.
@Gabby Gordita Good job! If you're really worried about escaped babies, you can put the enclosure she's in inside a bigger one that seals well. She won't run out of air. Don't let things get TOO dry inside, but don't soak her either. Just give her some peace and quiet and eventually you'll have little slings! You can let her go instead if you don't want to deal with it, but you could also watch the babies grow up and then let them go and keep mom.
I'd suggest you make a post in the true spider forum or search there for more info. I do more with tarantulas than true spiders.
