For the record that Coco Fiber takes FOREVER and a day to dry, been 4 days already with the open enclosure constantly in front of a box fan (with the T in a different temporary container of course) and its STILL not finished drying. Would use the oven method but in an apartment I don't want to stink up the place. XD
Are you blowing air into the enclosure or through it?
I may be missing the point of this or what your trying to accomplish but have you ever blown just the tinyest bit of air on a T? They shy away and curl up. They dont like it at all.
I have to believe that your T will HATE all that air blowing around.
My curiosity is peaked lol
What am i missing here? Why is blowing air into/through an enclosure with computer fans a good idea???
Ah no, there is no air blowing through this enclosure while the T is in it. I just use the shown PC fan covers instead of mesh screen or slit style vents (no fans). I just bought the coco fiber in this enclosure last week. After expanding the brick, I realized how much water was still in the SS and I moved the T out of this enclosure to a separate, different, unrelated temporary storage container (approx 3"x3"x2"). Then, after removing the water dish and fake plant, so that this enclosure has nothing in it but coco and a hide, I placed the now empty enclosure in front of a box fan to try to dry out the wet coco, so I could put the G rosea in AFTER the coco dries. I got impatient waiting for the substrate to dry completely after a few days, and I felt bad keeping my rosie in such a small temporary storage container, so after the SS felt mostly dry and barely even feels damp when squeezed, I went ahead and removed the box fan, put the water dish and T back in, and put her (in the shown enclosure) back in my T room. As a sidenote, I have the left-over extra substrate in a large mixing bowl in a completely different room still under the box fan continuing drying. Crossing my fingers that I won't need to pull her back out, I'm sure being in that tiny container for days was stress enough...
@Jerry@Abyss
Jerry is correct, I do not have any fans (minus the typical air circulation from the building a/c system) pushing air through the enclosure. I'm well aware they hate being 'blown' on. See above explanation
