yes Louise, that was on a walk to the lake with the dog...maybe 3 blocks from the house.

@MrGhostMantis I think its a Chinese mantis...but my mantid id isn't the best.

It is. One of my chinese mantids molted last night so I can really identify it now. That is a female Tendora Sinensis.
