I own A. sp metallica, they have white tipped setae all over their entire body, also the setae on the abdomen is white not red. You have most likely A. avicularia, which metallica is now considered, morphotype 6 I believe.
Unless you have better pics, you have a basic A. avic.
@viper69 I'd actually been thinking about that myself, but had been wondering if they don't go through some slight color changes from sling to adult and it'd be more noticeable after her next molt... I'm only hesitant to believe that she isn't a metallica/morphotype 6 because the breeder I purchased her from was pretty trustworthy last I knew, and specialized in Avicularia. It'd be bizarre to me if they accidentally sent me a normal Avic avic and not A. metallica/avic morphotype 6.
In natural lighting without flash, the setae over her body has white tips, but she definitely has red setae and not white on her abdomen. Do you mind if I PM you a couple pics just for confirmation?
@Arachnophoric Sure send away. The white tips seal the deal for me among things. I can't recall what my A sp metallica looked like at that size, I didn't take pics. I'm pretty sure he had all white, including abdomen, could be wrong.
@Arachnophoric the white tipped setae are very obvious at 2.5". Also, they will have red markings on the abdomen, but not red setae like an Avicularia avicularia will.
@Arachnophoric Email her and ask when the white tipped setae, white abdominal setae should show...by when, I mean what size! Again, I don't recall mine never having it, but it's been a while. So I could be completely wrong.
@viper69 The whitish brown abdominal should show as soon as the sling abdominal pattern is gone. Plus the leg setae isn't grizzled so this is certainly not Avicularia avicularia m#6 aka hobby metallica. Like you said, Chris, this more than likely hobby Avicularia avicularia morphotype #1.
