i'm a newcomer from hongkong, currently keeping 3 scorpions.
they should be heterometrus laoticus, if i'm not mistaken. (pictures attached)

one female is not eating while the other two eat a lot, but i guess that's common, as mentioned by the forum members.

Welcome to the boards! Nice pics! Very nice. How long has it been since the other female has eaten? Does she seem healthy otherwise? Is she looking full and maybe getting ready to molt? Or could she just be full?

thank u =)

thank u so much for the welcome =)

i bought them about 1 month ago. actually i gave crickets as meal several times, though i didn't see them eat, the crickets disappeared.
so i dunno if each of them has eaten.

it's just last time that i fed them, two appeared to be hungry and ate several, but the remaining female seemed not interested.

i'm a newbie, haha, so i actually dunno how would she look like if she is going molt, or is pregnant.
but other than the eating thing, she seems fine, not too fat, i dun see mites at the meantime also.

she is the one in the middle, the front is the male. to the left is the other female, she is cleaning her pincers, cute girl.

I think the biggest misconception about T's, but moreso tropical scorpions, is that they are very clean animals.

Plan to go to Hong Kong soon (well, once the kids are a little older :) gotta get my Cantonese down for some serious shopping!!!! (my husband speaks it though)

Are there any limits to the kind of scorpions that you can keep there???

scorpion is really a rare choice for pets in hong kong

most of the ppl here are afraid of insects, bug, etc.
esp the girls. they fancy man-made stuff, i.e. hand bags, cartoons, celebrities, too much.

therefore there are not many shops selling scorpions. this is the only species i found in the shop.

though i'm not sure about the regulations. this is a chinese society, u can have everything when u got money =). no offense.

No offense taken lol... I just can't wait to get down there!! My husband has family there and in the mainland. So many incredible creatures down there! you're very lucky to have the opportunity to live with them!!

So you speak Cantonese? I'm trying to learn it and teach the kids at the same time... My Mother in Law only speaks that, and on our trips to San Fransisco, they only speak Cantonese there.... Well... hope to hear more from you soon!!! Best of luck on the little scorpions care!!!!
