And a subadult female M. balfouri that I couldn't pass up.

nice pic!...and ya, ornatas are not scared of much!...I open the front door on my fem's enclosure, and she wants to come out, rather than hide...lol
the roughly 8" female I had was a nightmare with 8 legs. I'd open the enclosure and then fury of legs would come flying out, then the threat posture, haha! So sad she died, but hey it lived a good life! I got her when she was a 2" suspect female back in 2005.

Hobo, excellent pics man!

Nice setup

Thanks for the detailed set up pics for the N chromatus. Gives me some ideas for mine. Good luck with her.

Hahah well he has a lot to fix up. Two legs for one. His abdomen turned black a few months ago... but he still keeps eating.

I love the male GBB, he looks so old and ragged <3
Yeah, he has battle damage for sure. He earned his retirement.

Very nice additions man!
Thanks! I know I say this every time, but It's probably my last for a long while!

Thanks, Rob. She hasn't shown anything like that yet... but I think she's getting there. She's no longer running off when I rumage around the enclosure with the tongs. It's probably not a good idea to push it hahah.

Nice haul of new Ts there, and brilliant photos too.
Thanks matt. Just a point and shoot, but I try :)

Nice! Love the little cuties (GBB and other slings) and M. Balfouri especially. Here's an interesting thread for M. Balfouri:
http://www.tarantulas.co.za/forum/tarantula-general/31023-monocentropus-balfouri-communal :)
Thanks for that! Very interesting. I'll have to go over that thread thorougly later. The guy I got mine from actually has some living communally in a large tank. One of the females even has some slings recently hatched; Of course I wasn't able to see any in the webbed mess...

Thanks man. It ain't the perfect setup, but she's finally large enough to reach the top!

Anyway, here's a short bvid compilation of feeding some of the GBB slings.

Those are such cute slings! I love the little scene in the beginning. :p Reminds me of that time I chopped up someone--not people :sarcasm: Also, I found your spider:
http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?227217-Hobo-Spiderlings-(Tegenaria-agrestis)

Was just looking through "What's new" and this was the first thread. :D
Thanks for that. Yeah, my all time favorite spiders to keep. I only have the one Tegenaria sp. around though. Gotta catch some more this year.

I dunno, I'll try to keep out of the Canadian FS section. Crysta's been there with her tempting spider.... LOL.
But yeah, me being at the show is pending me having a lift as usual. hahah.

Well, yeah, she can web, but it's always so spindly and thin. She barely had a molt mat at all.
Ah well she's still cool.

Thanks for the offer. She's about seven months in, and she's been averaging about 10 months in between molts, so I'd guess pretty late. I think I'll pass though, for now. Too many slings as it is!

So, it's molting season, and the girls are starting to pop their tops (and one needed help!)

The A. avicularia molted. She was in premolt for a good month too.

And, the one who had trouble, Big mama GBB:cry:

Short story time:
Earlier yesterday night, at about 930pm, I get home from work and see her on her back. Whoo hoo!
So at around 10, I'm getting ready to sleep, and I see a big blob of clear liquid right behind her abdomen. I've seen 'em poop, but never clear liquid. It didn't look like blood to me, so although odd, I figured there was nothing I could do about it. She was also starting to pulse and I could see her top popped, so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal.
So, I go to bed.
It's nearly 3am when I wake up to go to the bathroom. I take a peek expecting her to be out. I see some of her legs out, some halfway out and bent the wrong way, and her face and right side still in her molt!
So after watching for half an hour, and seeing her make zero progres, I decided to go help her out. Cut through her web, pulled out some decor, and very carefully placed her on some toilet paper. Getting the rest of the legs out was easy, all I had to do was hold each leg straight and taught and when she pulled, her legs slid right out. The other bent legs seemed to straighten out as I moved her exo out of the way. The problem was the right palp; It was good and stuck. The above pic is what I was working with after I had cut away the rest of the exo (which was a shame, I love to keep them intact!). So I chipped away very carefully using those sharp needle nose tweezers (which actually sent me to the hospital, in another GBB related mishap, true story) and turned out it was that first joint after the tarsus that was the problem. After breaking that joint, her palp slid right out!

She was free!
And not a moment too soon because she was really getting antsy and twisty.

So, after taking a quick shot of her naughy parts,

I very carefully placed her upside down in ther molting mat. I watched her for a bit, and she seemed like she was acting like a normal postmolt spider.

You can see the clearish blob to the right there. In case anyone is wondering, that spot on the bottom of her abdomen has been there since before this molt. As far as I can tell, it's a patch of light hair, I think.
So it's nearly 5am, My hands are itchy, I have a headache, and I didn't have a lot of sleep last night. I don't think I can wait for her to flip anymore. haha.

Here's hoping she recovers!

Wow, how nervewracking! I hope she pulls through with nary a problem. My girl had a couple of tiny spots like that under her abdomen following a molt as well; nothing seemed wrong and when she molted again, they were gone. I think they're just some setae that either didn't form or got stuck and pulled off during the molt. Good luck with her!
