Darn, those immanis pics are making me really envious/impatient. I've got a 3" sling that should be getting some nice colors in its next molt, but it doesn't seem in a hurry to get there.

Your poor GBB MM looks a little...dejected, hehe. He seems like a trooper, though.

Haha yeah we really gotta plan something one of these days. Sadly, nights leave me with little free time :\
Didn't know you could keep these communally. Looks liek you're starting to build a collection yourself now, haha.

Love that C. fimbriatus! :) Awesome pics
Thanks! I love her too, I didn't know they get a blue-ish sheen on their legs.

She's molted twice in my care already, and despite her size, she still grows a lot in between molts as if she were a sling. Yours will be up there in no time!

I dunno if I'd call Mr. GBB a trooper. Maybe a slacker! Given his species man-eating rep though, I can't really blame him for being wary.

Thanks man. I actually picked her up from aquariums west. They had a bunch of Ts you don't normally see at petstores too (i.e. not a rosea, avic, LP, etc.). Had to choose between this one and a feisty A. bicoloratum. The chaco won, ahaha.

She's one of my favorites to feed! In fact, she is almost always fed first! Hits like a ton of bricks. Tarantula bricks!

Glad y'all like the photos.
Here's a few for now:

My female P. irminia, who's still gravid, and showing. You can barelymake out the yellow, even without a flashlight!

The female GBB, who I hope is gravid and fetilized. She is getting quite large, and in a different shape from just "well fed" so I'm hoping!

The B. boehmei. She hasn't really taken to her enclosure as well as I'd hoped, might have to redo it.

..and one of the six Holothele sp. Colombia, waiting to be fed.

Rehoused the P. metallica, I haven't seen her in some months, so I made a few changes!
She's on the right, in temp housing while I remade her home.

In her new enclosure.

Doing that upside down butt... thing.

The male does it too.

B. emilia's U tunnel.

A. avicularia doin' some stretchin'

A. perezmilesi enjoying some cricket.

H. lividum out and about, for some reason. So I fed her!

And a shot of some molts.

Thanks!
If I had to guess, maybe one or two molts away.
He's exactly 4" right now, but I've heard of some larger males. We'll see:D

Great photo of your boehmei. And a rare shot of H lividum.

Also, I have a lady P metallica down here in the Okanagan! I'm sure there's a couple others around in BC. How nice would that be!

Quick shot of the P. metallica settled into her new home

Freshly molted male B. smithi, who's gettting some respectable size

And the MM GBB, officially retired.
Nearly four months of pairing, and still standing... on six legs!

Enjoying a meal in his new retirement home.

He's finally acting normal again after losing that second leg, and even tried making a few sperm webs. He cannot go upside down to get under it though, as it appears he needed those two back legs for balance. So, he ends up making a few, destroying them in his attempts to go under, and eventually giving up. His climbing ability is also diminished. Strangely enough, his appetite is back.!

Whether he got the job done remains to be seen in about a month 'cause...
The missus started building something a week after her "rehouse"...

I know they web a lot, but this is not like any of the webbing she's ever done...

Next day, everything was completely white. couldn't see anything!

Sure enough, though it's hard to see, she finally decided to drop a sac. You can just barely make out the sac and part of her leg covering it. Not gonna try and get a better pic unless she opens up.

I just hope they're fertilized, and she doesn't have a hankering for some GBB omelette.

Well it's been a little over a week. She's still holding on, and moving it around in there, so I hope it's a good one!
Thanks for all the good vibes guys!

Anyway, it's picture time, it's picture time...

Rehoused the C. fimbriatus, and this is her one day later, already moved in to the burrow I made, though she was already at home within the hour after her rehouse. She is by far the fastest adapter to rehouses I have.

...nom

Holothele sp. Colombia

On of the versi. They're getting big!

P. lugardi, hanging out topside. I think she finally realized that the topside is sheltered too, and has taken that as her new "burrow".

P. cancerides, seemingly proud of her water dish filling antics.

P. sp. antinous takign a drink. I almost never see her!

A NEW addition, a MM H. lividum from bakaichi, who will bait the tiger this weekend.

And finally, the P. metallica female finally molted, and thanks to her tank redesign, I was able to watch.

pop

Hrrrrnnnnng!

...and I was so enthralled that I forgot to take anymore pics until the end.

...unfortunately, it didn't go without a hitch, as the tip of leg IV on the right side was stuck in her exuvium until she flipped, which resulted in:

...a gimped foot. She's stayed off of it mostly, but I've seen her attempt to use it, and I've seen her manage to hook it on to something when stretching upside down, so I hope it's not gimped enough for her to have to remove it.... After all, I plan on breeding her if I get the chance, and she looks mighty ready to me!

I'm pretty sure that's the closest a tarantula can get to looking smug...

Congrats on the sac, and good luck with the H. lividum pairing. I hope it's less frustrating than the GBBs.:)
