Do you have a picture? If its somethng fungal maybe a cream, like the type you put on athletes foot. What type of T and was it wild caught?

Sorry the last message was so vague  I had to write it in about 45 seconds before leaving the house. She's a H.lividum and I believe she's wild caught. She's been in captivity for several years so I doubt a parasite could be in her that long and not have killed her yet. It looks like an abscess of some kind. I dont have a photobucket account but I'm going to post some pictures of her on Venomlist later tonight, and I'll post a link. If theres anything anybody can think of to help off the top of their head it would be most appreciated!

A parasite can live and grow in a WC T for a long time. I had one say with the T for 5 molts. Eventually the lump burst and she died.

Ulcer. It will go away. I have had two Ts with this problem. It will eventually start going away with progressive molts. It gets bad, worse, then better, better, better...

Wow, I'm glad to know that's it's an ulcer. That would have freaked me out. Congrats it's not a parasite.

Glad to see everyone so happy. The area is going to be very... fragile. The skin is thinner in the area (hence the bulge). So just try to keep her in ideal conditions. Keep out anything that she could hit it on... a stick, decorations, etc.

I was wondering if you can explain what an ulcer in a T is...... I have been unable to find anything on that topic anywhere, and have never encountered it.

maybe you could put it in ICU or some kinda container like that JUST IN CASE it possibly falls and hits the floor with the abdomen...not likely but..
just a suggestion o_o

I ask my question because 99 percent of the time a lump like that is parasitic in nature, sometimes the T can shed the parasite when a molt occures, but it the parasite is deep in there the buldge grows, as does the parasite. I have never seen a T recover from that, eventually they die.
So if there is such a thing as a T having an ulcer I was asking for an defination of what one is.

She's on about 6" of peat without any sticks or decorations to damage the delicate area.

Nevermind they loaded for me......... Ya I am going to have to disagree and say that she is toast.... I personally have never seen a T recover from that big of a growth like that. Its almost rivaling her abdomen size and that is not a good sign.

Well, I meant hernia. Look above. It is true, there is the possibility of parasites, but it could also just be a hernia. I have had two Ts with major hernias (like Scolo) and I have had about 4, maybe 5 with minor ones. All of them survived. So you are looking at 99% that die, and I am looking at 100% that lived.
